Minor Offenses Act'/장발단속
ᴊᴀᴄᴋɪᴇ ᴄʜᴀɴ ɪɴ "ʜᴀᴘᴘʏ ᴛᴏɢᴇᴛʜᴇʀ" © ᴋʙꜱ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ ᴛᴠ Have you ever heard about 'Minor Offenses Act'/장발단속 introduced that was issued by Old Park Chung Hee government in 1973? It was an act that banned men from having long hair and women wearing skirts shorter than 17 centimeters above the knee. Violators were often taken to police stations and had their hair cut against their will. It was my first time to hear about it in 2014 when I watched Jackie chan episode on "Happy Together". Korean people suffered alot in order to keep their hair long. It wasn't limited to 1970s, During Japan invasion there was "The single command"/ 단발령 Have you ever heard about that? It was an order that forced men to cut their hair short. It was such a hard time for them especially if you know that fact: • Korean people had long hair because they consider every part of the body is given by parents as a gift, they can't cut their hair as a way if appreciation to their pa
